At the opening press conference, the Ambassador for Italy, Giuseppina Zarra, to whom we owe this important initiative, thanked both the ICE and the Library of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, for having lent the exhibition some rare editions of the Divine Comedy in Bulgarian and Italian. Over the centuries, the magnificent work by Dante has been subject to multiple interpretations and reinterpretations in various artistic fields, represented by paintings, sculptures, essays, exhibitions and performances. To pay tribute to the Supreme Poet, Percossi Papi built a precious and original exhibition piece inspired by the Divine Comedy, of which he narrates the purifying route, through the intriguing language of magnificent original jewels, faithfully reproduced with particular care for the colours and enamels. Dante’s work, like the creations of Percossi Papi, are unique pieces, initially conceived and crafted for artists and intellectuals, but appreciated by all.
