musique”, 2004. Brafa Art Fair 2022
The 67th edition of Brafa Art Fair returns in-person for its public from 19 to 26 June 2022, in the new spaces of Brussels Expo, on the Heysel plateau, north of Bruxelles. Organised by the Association of Antique dealers of Belgium, the well-known event is an international meeting between professionals and collectors, restarting from the centrality of the galleries and the desire to develop the culture of collecting. This year’s edition sees the participation of 115 art galleries from 15 countries, the importance of Italian art is confirmed with 8 galleries. The new Italian entry, Barbara Bassi, descendent of a family of coin and precious gem merchants, places antique jewellery alongside the most precious examples of Swiss watches. Her gallery founded in Cremona in 1984, is specialised in antique Italian jewels, in particular Mario Buccellati and Bulgari. Increasing the female presence at Brafa, the gallery owner distinguishes herself for her remarkable vintage items, signed by international brands, and for her collaborations with high level editors such as Marina Ruggieri, specialised in portable sculptures of international artists such as Raymond Hains, Fausto Melotti, Mimmo Rotella, Turi Simeti, Arman and Yoko Ono. She also presents the precious “Orecchini Luna” (Moon Earrings) in white gold of Fausto Melotti, realised in 1971 in only 8 pairs.
