PREZIOSA YOUNG
Dal 25 aprile al 1° maggio scorso, nell’ambito di MIDA, Mostra Internazionale dell’Artigianato, si è svolta a Firenze negli spazi de La Polveriera - Fortezza da Basso, la prima tappa della mostra PREZIOSA YOUNG. Fra i numerosi candidati per l’edizione 2024, la giuria ha scelto i lavori realizzati da tre artisti provenienti da culture e esperienze diverse: Hasan Kurd, palestinese, Xinyi Chen una cinese trasferita a Londra, Maria Camera-Smith, un’artista statunitense. Tre voci, tre narrazioni che contribuiscono al vivace e policromo racconto di Preziosa Young e ne confermano il carattere internazionale e interculturale. A questa prima tappa fiorentina seguiranno altre due mostre: la prima, nel mese di maggio, nella sede dell’Archivio Negroni di Milano, in collaborazione con AGC, Associazione italiana per il Gioiello Contemporaneo, la seconda, in ottobre, nell’iconico Oratorio San Rocco di Padova, noto in Italia per l’allestimento di mostre dedicate alla ricerca orafa contemporanea. Preziosa Young conferma sempre più il suo ruolo di grande trampolino di lancio per gli artisti, precedenti e attuali, che le devono una gran parte del loro successo, convalidato da riconoscimenti, premi e presenze in molte prestigiose gallerie internazionali. La mostra fa parte del progetto PREZIOSA-Florence Jewellery Week, promosso e organizzato da LAO, Le Arti Orafe scuola di gioielleria, ideato per supportare le nuove generazioni di artigiani, designer e artisti e i loro percorsi innovativi.

From 25 April to 1 May last, MIDA, the International Handicraft Exhibition, held in La Polveriera - Fortezza da Basso, Florence, hosted the first leg of the exhibition PREZIOSA YOUNG. Among the numerous candidates for the 2024 edition, the jury chose the works by three artists from different cultures and backgrounds: the Palestinian, Hasan Kurd, the Chinese, Xinyi Chen, who has moved to London, and the American artist, Maria Camera-Smith. Three voices, three narratives which contribute to the lively and polychromatic story of Preziosa Young and confirm its international and intercultural nature. This first leg in Florence, will be followed by another two exhibitions: the first, in May, in the premises of the Negroni Archive in Milan, in association with AGC, Italian Association of Contemporary Jewellery, the second, in October, in the iconic San Rocco Oratory of Padua, well-known in Italy for the exhibition dedicated to contemporary goldsmith research. Preziosa Young increasingly confirms its role of great springboard for artists, previous and current, who owe a large part of their success to it, validated by awards and presences in many prestigious international galleries. The exhibition is part of the project PREZIOSA-Florence Jewellery Week, promoted and organised by LAO, Le Arti Orafe jewellery school, designed to support the new generations of craftsmen, designers and artists and their innovative paths.
